Registered Physiotherapist, BSci, MPhty, AN-IMS, APPI
Sharni graduated from The University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy in 2018. She then went on to work in a busy sports clinic in Sydney, Australia. During her time there she worked as a physiotherapist for a Men’s premier league football (soccer) team and an AFL (Australian Rules Football) juniors club.
Sharni is currently one of the physiotherapists for Freestyle Canada travelling with the national ski teams for competitions and training all over the world. In the off season, Sharni is the physiotherapist for the Whistler Wolves Rugby League team.
Sharni is also an APPI trained clinical pilates instructor for matwork and reformer pilates. She teaches small group mat-work pilates here in the clinic, or is available for private reformer/mat-work sessions upon request. Sharni finds pilates a useful tool in injury rehabilitation, particularly in retraining muscles, compensatory patterns and other biomechanical issues.
Sharni has completed post-graduate courses/training in pilates/exercise re-habilitation, dry-needling/IMS (APA and AN-IMS), custom orthotics and Sports Physiotherapy level 1 (APA).
Sharni’s passion for physiotherapy and the human body started when she faced many injuries herself as a professional dancer. During her training days as a dancer, Sharni attained her diploma in dance and elite performance.
Sharni moved to Whistler in 2020 from Australia and loves all the activities Whistler has to offer. In her spare time, you’ll find her at the gym, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding and running.
