Orthotics

The foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles. We sell a full range of custom made orthotics to fix just about anything.

Custom prescription foot orthoses (“orthotics”) are medical devices which are custom made from a mold of your feet (unlike shoe inserts bought over the counter). The orthotic works to adjust and control the function of the foot and it’s alignment with the lower leg. Orthotics help to treat and prevent injury causing motions like excessive pronation (collapsing in) and supination (rolling out) and make standing, walking and running more effective. Orthotics can treat heel pain, arch pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon problems, painful toes or pain experienced with walking or running.  Some orthotics are designed to redistribute pressures on the bottom of your foot to alleviate pain from corns, calluses and bony prominences.

Orthotics are typically made from a comfortable thermoplastic which is durable and can be designed to fit in ski boots, athletic shoes, golf sandals, dress shoes, boots and skates.

Our Physiotherapists have had training from Paris Orthotics laboratory in Vancouver and we use the Paris Lab to construct the device.  We have years of experience with the athletic feet we see in and around Whistler.
