Does insurance cover physiotherapy?

Most insurance plans cover physiotherapy, which is awesome! Coverage can vary, so it’s a good idea to check with your provider. Need help figuring it out? We’re here to assist.

Do you need a referral to see a Physiotherapist?

In most cases, you don’t need a referral to see a physiotherapist. However, some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement.

How long are the appointments?

The first appointment is approximately an hour long and subsequent treatments are 45 minutes.

What should I wear to my physiotherapy session?

Comfort is key! Wear something loose and easy to move in. If we’re working on your legs, shorts are a great choice. For shoulders, a tank top works best.

Why do you need to know what type of medications I take?

Physiotherapists take into account your overall health to put together the most appropriate treatment plan for you.

Different medications can affect your treatment plan; such as changing how long your injury takes to heal or lowering your tolerance to exercise.

Medication side effects can also cause some common symptoms we see in the clinic, so knowing the medication you take helps with diagnosing your problem.

What is the difference between physiotherapy and massage therapy?

Physiotherapy is about movement, strength, and rehab, while massage focuses on relaxing tight muscles. Together, they’re a powerhouse for recovery and feeling great!

What happens if I miss a session?

We understand that things come up! Please let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll help you reschedule your appointment.

Can physiotherapy help with chronic pain?

Absolutely. We’ll help you understand why the pain is sticking around and work on strategies to reduce it – for good.

Can I go to physiotherapy while pregnant?

Absolutely! Physiotherapy is a great way to manage pain, improve mobility, and stay active during pregnancy. We can help with everything from back pain to pelvic stability.

Can physiotherapy help me avoid surgery?

In many cases, yes! Physiotherapy can strengthen muscles, improve mobility, and reduce pain, which might help you skip the operating table.

How soon after surgery should I start physiotherapy?

It depends on your surgery, but we’re ready when you are! Some treatments can start right away, while others need a little recovery time. Your surgeon will usually give you the green light.

What’s the deal with shockwave therapy?

It’s a high-tech way to jump-start your healing! Shockwave therapy uses sound waves to target problem areas, break up scar tissue, and get you back to doing what you love.
