Michelle grew up in Sligo on the west coast of Ireland where she developed her love of physiotherapy in her mothers private practice.
She graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree from the University of the West of England Bristol. Since then she has worked in a wide range of services, most recently as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner with the medical Orthopedic team in Offaly, Ireland. She has completed post graduate courses in Acupuncture, Mc Kenzies and Mulligans and manual therapy techniques, trigger point therapy, hydrotherapy and a specialized course in cervicogenic headaches. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Musculoskeletal Manipulative Physiotherapy to further enhance her skills.
Her clinical interests include musculoskeletal injuries, spinal complaints, work related injuries and post surgical rehabilitation. Her treatment approach incorporates client education, manual therapy, acupuncture and exercise prescription. She feels one of the most important aims of treatment is to empower the clients giving them an understanding on how and why an injury has occurred and provide them the knowledge to prevent further problems.
Michelle loves to travel and has spent many years in France enriching her fluency of the French language. She has a strong interest in sports currently enjoying skiing and cross country biking. She has competed in national level squash competitions, horse riding and participating in triathlons and open water swimming endurance events.
It is her passion for the outdoors that has brought her to Whistler.
